The Classic Hunter Selfbow is just that. a selfbow of classic design built for hunters and serious shooters. The Classic Hunter especially caters to the primitive archer who wishes to hunt with a high standard, high eye appeal selfbow.
Made of whitewoods such as Hickory, Maple, Ash, or Elm, (species typically chosen depending on desire draw weight and length.) These bows are built to be slightly fancier than the Aboriginal selfbows. They feature a fitted leather grip to shaped handle and a cut-in arrow shelf. The rest and strike plate are sewn on and the grip is designed for a very comfortable feel and extra style! Primitive twist dacron string included.
Each Classic Hunter comes with tip overlays and a leather grip as well as a good tiller shape. These bows will have some string follow for a more comfortable shooting experience, but I Typically try to reflex the limbs at the tips for extra arrow speed and maximum energy upon impact.
. I have personally taken deer with great success with these bows, and never hesitate to take one a-field.
Recently, I have actually preferred hunting with my Classic hunter bows as they tend to be a little more forgiving yet still have great performance. The life on these bows is hard to beat. While they may take on a little string follow over time, they very rarely ever develop any cracks or where out. A hickory, elm or dogwood bow is hard to beat when it comes to blending performance and life expectancy!
As with all selfbows, These bows are made out of only fully cured staves, not milled lumber. each bow has its own unique characteristics and it is common for selfbows to carry knots, slight twists and light tool marks.

Turn around time on custom ordered bows is only 2-4 weeks!
Weights can range from 30# up to 65# with some additional costs of bows exceeding 65#
